About Sheri

Sheri Dumonceaux is a Grand Prix dressage rider, trainer and stable owner located in Cochrane, Alberta, Canada. Sheri has loved horses since she was a little girl and has owned horses and ridden since she was 8. She took up dressage in her early 20’s and was smitten with the sport from then on.

“Dressage is such a beautiful sport, creating such harmony between horse and rider, and the dance that goes on, can be pure magic.”

Sheri runs a busy boarding stable, training horses and riders for over 31 years. She has bred many dressage horses and has shown competitively her whole life. She currently has 2 amazing dressage horses - a black Oldenburg mare, imported from Germany named Felicity and a bay mare that she bred named Penny. Sheri lives with her husband Greg, 3 dogs and 2 cats and has one son, Austin and 2 grandsons, Sullivan and Rory.

Jester is Sheri’s first book. A champion for the underdog, and a sucker for a cute face, Jester has been in the works for many years, and she is excited to share her characters with her audience.

Meet the Real Jester

Jester was purchased by Sheri as a young horse and was started under saddle at her farm. A wonderful lady named Allison saw Jester and fell immediately in love with him. His goofy personality and endearing charm solidified them for life.

Jester started his dressage career and then not long after, Allison and her family moved to British Columbia and took Jester with them. Jester and Allison have had many adventures, including parades, cowboy challenges, beach riding, and teaching Allison’s husband Bill to ride as well.

Jester is now retired and living his best life at Allison’s acreage along with another horse, a donkey and several mini’s. Besties for life!
